Creating a website?

I have picked a domain name and found a host now what? How do I go about creating my website? I do not know how to link my webpage to my domain name.

Creating a website?

well if you already have webhosting account

i m pretty sure that there must a option in host control panel

for directing domain name towards your webspace.

thou%26#039; if they aint from same server it will take some time like a day or so.

and your domain name must have nameserver ....that your hosting account has to point to get it working.

next thing you need to do is just

upload you webpages file on host space.

Note: first page should be index.htm/html cos server searches for that above all.

hope this will help

Cheers:)

First of all, whats the domain registrar?

Secondly, if you got paid hosting, most chances you can change the domain on your own, if you got free hosting, find the DNS servers for that host, then go to your domain registrar and change the dns servers to the ones that are listed at your host, then contact your host, to change their settings so your website has your domain name(if it doesn%26#039;t, usually if you registered with a free subdomain, if you registered with your newly bought domain, you don%26#039;t have to do this).

If you%26#039;ve configured your domain properties you can now start building your website, wait 24-48 hours after you changed the dns settings to see if they worked, if they did you can start working on straight from your domain.

Other Replys:take an html tutorial from http://www.w3schools.com/

Other Replys:Here are the steps you should follow:

1. Get web hosting for your domain name - refer these articles for details

(a) I booked a domain name. Do I now need to get a web site? - http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/hostin...

(b) booked a domain name a few minutes back but the browser tells me that the site cannot be found - http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/hostin...

(c) I bought a domain name before and have just purchased web hosting - what do I do now? - http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/hostin...

2. Once you host your domain name, its time for you to start building your web site. Web sites are created using HTML (at least for beginners) and here is a neat HTML tutorial - http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tutori...

3. When you have created your web pages using HTML, you need to upload them on your web server. I suggest you use FTP - step by step tutorial - http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/tips/i... and FTP basics (http://www.webdevelopersnotes.com/basics...

Remember, creating a web site is NOT rocket science. Its actually quite a simple affair.

Other Replys:If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage. Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in %26quot;domainname.com%26quot;, you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... name will be masked by the domainname.com. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE. Here%26#039;s a demonstration: Type in the URL window: %26quot;www.pizzanextdoor.com%26quot; which will bring up their pizza website. Take note of the domain name. Then type in the URL window: %26quot;http://home.pacbell.net/vten/1a/pizzame... and you will see that this is the original homepage which is unmasked without the domain name!

Good luck!
