A domain is a land mass ruled by a King or something. Hosting is when you throw a big party. What%26#039;s the matter with you.
What is a domain? What is hosting?
A domain would be something like: www.yahoo.com or www.websitename.com
Hosting: all the html files and other content of your website that need to be accessed by visitors to your site are stored on a server. so hosting is just paying someone to store your files on a dedicated server so ppl can access your site at all times.
What is a domain? What is hosting?

Other Replys:Domains are the root names on which most websites are based.
For example
www.yahoo.com %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; DOMAIN IS %26gt;%26gt;%26gt; yahoo.com
Hosting refers to the PLACE WHERE A GIVEN SERVICE/PHYSICAL EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED (HOSTED).
For example.
All yahoo servers are HOSTED in a DATA Centre located about 25 miles from Yahoo%26#039;s headquarters.
In order to save operational and maintenance costs, many companies decide to outsource their IT services. In doing so they also outsource all the hardware/software provision and services. Therefore the contracting company has to find a physical place (building, room, house, office) in which it is possible to install such equipment and from which it is possible to run the services in behalf of the Company that has outsourced the services. In this way all employees from the company can use the services located in a remote physical centre managed by an external contractor, whom HOSTS the services..or provides those services in HOSTING (MODE).
In general it is referred to services provided by third parties while in other cases it can also apply to the same sort of service but provided by a division of the company itself for example.
I hope all this helps.
