You probably can%26#039;t. First, you don%26#039;t know how to install and use Apache, so that means doing it right is over your head. Second, your ISP probably doesn%26#039;t allow you to hang a server on your Internet connection.

I would go with one of the very inexpensive hosting plans like www.brokehosting.com. For $10/year you have your own Web site and 5 email addresses.

you can have a local testing server on your computer, and install apache, php, mysql, etc.

But if you want the site to be live on the web, you%26#039;d need to allow the world to access your computer and you%26#039;d better have really good security and really good bandwidth on your internet service.

Other Replys:yes you sure can...the domain name you can get from www.1and1.com or a number of different sites and will cost you a few dollars a year. they will also host you site. You can also host the site yourself by going to www.apache2triad.net and downloading the free server..this includes almost everything you will need..this can get a bit confusing at first but there are tons of forums out there to help...so dont give up..you can also goto www.phpnuke.org to download a php program. php is just a different format than html.you can edit this and make just about any kind of site you want and is also free.there is also tons of help forums for this too...or use microsoft frontpage or dreamweaver.these will cost a bit..if you are going to sell something try www.zencart.com...if you need more help go to www.travanie.com/modules.php?name=Forums... ... and post your ??%26#039;s there..i will reply as soon as possible..

Other Replys:You can use Dynamic DNS to allow others on the internet to find your computer some other way other than ip address alone. Then you will need to setup a web server. Since you had problems with Apache, you can look at some others. I%26#039;ve used the TinyWeb webserver from http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/tinyw... It was pretty easy to setup, but is not a powerful as Apache, or IIS. If you want a more powerful webserver, I would give Apache another try.

Other Replys:Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in the %26quot;domain name,%26quot; you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

Other Replys:There are two principal steps to make your website on the internet and registering/booking a domain name is the number one.

A domain name builds the address of your site and can end in . com, . net, . org, . info, . us, . biz, . tv and further.

Directly afer you have registered your name, you will pick a web host (2nd step). The web host is the guts of any website as this is where you build and publish your pages, build purchase fillings, insert service and preserve your site.
