I%26#039;ve purchased many domains which are all parked at the moment , however I want to build a few sites but wanted to know if I can purchase hosting from sites where my domains where not bought from and use their services without transferring my domains to them. I dont want to use the hosting packages from where my domains where bought from as they are pretty expensive. I think it has something to do with forwarding them to different servers, but not too sure :(
If someone could tell me using easy steps to do this I would be grateful. Oh and if someone could recommend cheap hosting packages that would be nice.
Thanks :)
Can I use hosting from a different company I purchased my domain from and without transferring the domain?
Yes you can.
Godaddy.com has hosting from $3.99/mth and if you transfer your domains, they%26#039;ll include an additional year free of charge for each domain for the transfer price.

You can edit the DNS in the domain control panel to the host DNS but why not just move it all to one account? At http://www.dakotawebhosting.com you can transfer domains for $1.99 when you get hosting which I think is around $6 a month.
Other Replys:There is no problem to host your domains at any place. You only have to go to the control panel of your domain provider and change the DNS settings to those provided by your hosting company (this is different for every company, so I can%26#039;t give you the exact steps, only the idea, but if your domain company is good, they will help you with this).
Cheap hosting is very relative upon what you are going to host. If you need high uptime (almost 100% service) because you are spending on Adwords, then you need a VPS at least (you can get excellent ones for $50 a month and have 10 Gigabytes at your disposal), but if your pages are not critical, then you can go with reseller account on a shared hosting and you can host all your sites very cheap.
Best Regards

Other Replys:Hi,
This is the common thing. you can host any where else. no problem. you have to change your name server according to your new host. I suggest you for hosting http://domains.techedgeindia.com there service is very cheap. there plan started from $6.95 per year.
Other Replys:Yes DNS is a factor you have to change the name servers for ns1.(domain).com and ns2(domain).com sometimes its 3%26amp;4 depending no the place , but I would highly disreguard using Geocities , Go Daddy , I would try a place more unknown that most people don%26#039;t know about GoDaddy charges for the name GODADDY were reliable , yea we%26#039;ll the guy on the corner with hosting i hate to say it is just as reliable as they are in most cases..... Get yourself a cheap web host and a decent one who guarntees 99% uptime or dont go with them period , I wouldnt pay over 5$ a month FOR ANY Web host unless your going Dedicated hosting or Virtual Private Server.
Other Replys:Yes, You can do it. Try HQ Host http://hqhost.info
