I said I would create a website for free after a member of my band paid 鎷?00 for a site that was poorly made, and incomplete. I made a better site (also incomplete) but also did a lot of work creating a web presence (Myspace, and other profiles and sites) and also bought an extra domain (for email), and arranged some free hosting online for the website. Because I said I would do it for free one of the band members thinks I should give him all the passwords for the online accounts for nothing. I asked for 鎷?0 to take it all off my hands including the website. I think I struck a more than fair deal, and now he is being unreasonble with me (to say the least). I am really good friends with the other 2 band members, so it%26#039;s a sticky situation. Any ideas?
I did everything web-related for my old band. Now they want it all for free. I want 鎷?0. Who%26#039;s right?
You can ask for whatever money you paid to get the site and other things where they are now, but you can%26#039;t ask for reimbursement for time spent since when you started is was %26#039;for the team%26#039;, and if you were still in the band, this wouldn%26#039;t be an issue.
Take the high ground and give over permissions to anything you don%26#039;t plan on maintaining. Chalk it up to experience and start advertising your skills as a marketing manager for other bands in the area. And make sure they know it%26#039;s not for free!

If you don%26#039;t mind the flack, stick to your guns.

Other Replys:Do not give up the site info. If you bought the domain, then it is yours.
Other Replys:What did you originally tell them? If they were left with the impression that you%26#039;d set something up for them as a favor for them to fix up as they liked to later - well, it was disingenuous for you to call it free. If you said something like %26quot;if you let me manage your web site in my own way%26quot; - then you%26#039;re justified in asking for money to hand it over. I suspect legally you can do what you want, but anyone would be unhappy if they were led to believe something is free only to be charged for it later; no matter how good a gift is, that seems manipulative.
EDIT: Just be honest with yourself. If the roles were reversed with this one band member, knowing how things unfolded, if you were him, would you feel justified in wanting this for free (or feel taken advantage of if you were charged)? Answer this honestly, and go with that. Your other friends in the band might be objective about this; if you did a good job, and they want to stay on good terms with you, they might be fine with paying you.
Other Replys:perhaps you can edit your design ^^
and you can give them your password :P
then you can sell your original design to other
