Ideas for a website?

Personal hobbies, a blog, family, business...

Of course, a %26quot;good domain%26quot; is usually based on what the site%26#039;s content is... It would be pointless to call a site about hardware or software %26quot;fluffybunnies%26quot; for instance...

Most people have the idea, and work with the domain and hosting /after/ they know what they want to do...

If you need an HTML/CSS editor, I would suggest Notepad++. I personally find it much more useful than MS Frontpage or even Dreamweaver.

Of course, if you don%26#039;t have a clue about HTML, well... I would suggest you start with a good book about it, then.

I have a web site that I have text and photos for and want to put on web. Anyone know of a user frie

I have a web site that I want to put up for a small business. I have the domain name and the hosting from godaddy.com. But I found their web design software to be not very user friendly and I can%26#039;t find software that is user friendly. I have all the text written and photos ready. I have about 10 pages. I also tried citymax.com but it wasn閳ユ獩 working right. Does anyone know of a user-friendly software web design tool? Thanks.

Where can i get a webpage coded?

I designed my web page for my music production company in photoshop. I%26#039;m not the greatest designer but i%26#039;m on a really tight budget so i had to do the best i could.

I%26#039;m stuck now..because i purchased a domain and i have hosting...all i need now is for someone to code the site for me. I%26#039;m also thinking about incorporating a flash intro (nothing too complicated) and to somehow add a flash music player in the music section of the site.

Does anyone have any suggestions? is there a site that has a listing of programmers for this?

If it%26#039;s not too much of a waste of your valuable time you could learn to code it yourself. It%26#039;s not too difficult although like everything there is a learning curve. It is also lots of fun and you will be able to edit the site yourself without additional cost.

If you do wish to code it yourself for goodness sake do not use one of the packaged web design program. They will not help you at all as you will need to learn the programs and their quirks. You need to learn HTML which is the language used to write webs. (A small amount of Javascript may be necessary but nothing you can%26#039;t copy from others.)

An excellent set of tutorials on line is to be found at www.htmldog.com and a good beginner book (although horribly verbose) is the Head Start book on HTML.

Ignore the advice of tolstoi1. It always pays to start with good practices which you will never get by trying to learn by looking at other sites. You need to learn good programming practices and methods by doing, not by copying.

Good luck.

if your on a tight budget, ive bad news. This type of work tends to run around 500$ (for a greater then one page website, assuming thats what you want).

As for coders, just google webpage development costs. You will get a bunch of quotes and companies, along with personal ones as well.

Other Replys:thinking about building a website plus with flash...dreamweaver will be ur top choice!!learn to use it,,it will just work as like photoshop..for html code ..there re too many..search all the html code for website..any function u like just search for it!!and edit it with dw...

Other Replys:The cheapest way is to find a good site, View %26gt; Source in Notepad. SCALP their code.

For most web and programming you can tutorials with YouTube. In fact, you can upload a video to YouTube, then use the %26quot;embed%26quot; code on your webpage.

Here%26#039;s an example:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=W4jXAaEMp2M

On the middle-right, Embed shows the actual code that would make that video play IN YOUR PERSONAL WEB PAGE.

If you still have problems, email me your info: trimagna at yahoo dot com. I%26#039;ll see if any students in my Javascript class will volunteer to help you out.

I want to buy a forum....?

i want to buy a forum...

i dont care it doesnt have a domain name.... but the hosting site has to allow warez, and other adult stuff.... if you have 1 just price it......

I want to buy a forum....?

Good luck with that.

you don%26#039;t need to %26quot;buy%26quot; a forum either.

http://phpbb.com

http://simplemachines.org

http://punbb.org

they%26#039;re FREE. As far as hosting... good luck finding a host that will allow you to do what you want.

I want to buy a forum....?

Forum, you can create for free. Just follow the link from above answer.

Hosting is your bigger problem. You could probably find those kind of hosting by going to that kind of site you want and see which hosting provider they%26#039;re using. Then find a way to contact that provider.

You might have to check the domain to find that info.

Selling how to videos?

I wrote a question on selling how-to videos mdigital gave me this answer :If you want to control the media (ie. sell How to videos) you just need to purchase a domain name, purchase web hosting space and write a simple script (php, perl, etc) that allows users to signup and access your site.

This is exactly what I want to do. I want to make my own videos and give people the opportunity to log in to my site and download a video I have made to their computer.

Can anyone expound on how I can do this ie how do I write a script; how do I setup a login type website, how do I upload video that can be downloaded by others for a charge.

Pay the $140 for amember from amember.com. It handles all the aspects of managing users and monitoring payments. You can%26#039;t possibly develop a solution yourself that works as well for an equivalent amount of time/money.
