Other Replys:I%26#039;d second the recommendation of DreamHost. But generally, registering a domain through a host is *not* a good idea. They often keep the domain hostage if you cancel your acount. I don%26#039;t think this has happened with DreamHost, but generally I go through third parties.

If you do choose to do that, use GoDaddy.com for your domain -- they%26#039;re the best.

From my expirience, they are an excellent choice for buying web domains. They are cheap, easy to use, and realiable. For hosting, they tend to be overpriced (however, they do have a new %26quot;free%26quot; hosting program where they post ads all over your page.)

If you want to be really cheap, you can use dotster.com. They offer most of the same features as godaddy.com but are a little cheapter. I have used both services and there is essentially no difference.

Yes but be carefull of the ICANN reg. fee and some other fees. But besides that it is very good and has many good features.

Other Replys:Godaddy is by far the best price for domains. You should shop around for hosting packages that fit your needs. Godaddy did recently add free, ad-supported hosting if you are on a tight budget and don%26#039;t mind banners.

However, be self-suffcient enough to not need their customer service/tech support.

If you do, be prepared for long waits (e.g. the message said 8 minute wait for an agent, and 20 mins later I was still on hold), and it may take several phone calls to get an issue resolved.

Other Replys:Godaddy is a excellent source for managing and buying of domain names. However when if comes to hosing you can usually get better support from mid sized companies for a few dollar diff. And trust me good support will save you money when it comes to hosting.

yahoo you can build a website for free. there are no ads or popups. Just a small block appears in one corner when viewed by others which can be closed if the person wishes. it does not interfere though
